When I first encountered a computer and internet back in 2004, I knew I wanted to work with these two new technologies.
I saw the opportunity, and at that time, my youth only showed me the ability to get information across the world.
I did not realize the monetary benefits of using a computer and internet until 2009, when I started freelancer, just as a side hustle to complimentary the meagre salary I was getting at the time.
Only a month into my freelancing journey and I was making more on my side hustle than I was earning from my day job.
I quit my job in 2010, and started working as a full time online freelancer and I’ve never looked back since then.
I started out as a freelance writer, into a renowned digital marketer and trainer.
In 2015, I started www.isoopa.co.ke , a platform that helped me reach out to my fellow youth and train them on different aspects of working online, digital marketing, as well as training other freelancers on how to work on projects that I’d subcontract to them. This platform has attracted leading Kenyan and international trainers who now have some of their training programs on the program. You can register here to become a trainer.
I also established Siman Marketing Enterprises in 2013 (www.simanmarketing.com), a business process outsourcing business aimed that delivers marketing and data entry services to clients.
I also run www.kushstillkush.com blog that discusses online freelancing and digital marketing opportunities.
As a digital marketing enthusiast, I seek to train and offer information about the digital environment in Kenya and around the world.
